A man hospitalized after a car accident on Meethill Road in Peterhead


A man has been taken to hospital following a single car crash in Peterhead.

Emergency services were alerted to an incident on the town’s Meethill Road around 11am.

Police and air ambulance responded and the driver of the car was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.

A fire apparatus was also deployed from Peterhead station around 11.15am to assist. They left the scene shortly thereafter.

The road remains closed to traffic while officers conduct investigations.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘We received a report of an accident involving a vehicle in Meethill Road, Peterhead at around 11.10am on Wednesday August 17.

“The driver was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

“Investigations into the accident are ongoing.

“The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.”
