The experts, specializing in the local government sector, will cost the council between £ 800 and £ 900 per person per day, with up to six people needed at a time.
Former Southwark Council executive director Eleanor Kelly is expected to chair the group.
Justifying the huge extra expense at a time when the board is forced to make massive financial savings, board chief Cllr Wayne Fitzgerald said: “This is a panel of real experts from the government sector. local.
“Their compensation reflects this expertise and the indisputable contribution they will make to our improvement work.
“These rates are £ 900 per day for the chairman and £ 800 per day for each panel member.
“We will receive and discuss their reports at each of our board meetings every four months, and the first panel meeting will be on December 21, 2021.”
Peterborough City Council held an extraordinary plenary council meeting (December 16) to approve a temporary moratorium program on the capital that could save up to £ 9.435million.
These savings will help balance the budget – a legal obligation – in time for March 11, 2022.
If the council fails to balance the budget, it risks losing control of its finances to the central government.
