The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), a Lansing legal services firm, announced attorney Stuart Sklar as its 70th president.

Joining MAJ in 1991 and serving as an officer for four years, Sklar began his one-year term on June 1 and will end on May 31, 2023.

“It is a pleasure for me to lead MAJ and its members and to be the 70th president of our organization,” Sklar said. “MAJ has been a constant in my legal career for over 30 years, and I am honored to serve in this high office and offer my experience as a resource to move this great organization forward.”

Sklar brings considerable experience to MAJ as he is the managing shareholder of Fabian, Sklar, King & Liss, in Farmington Hills. His firm represents homeowners, business owners and other insureds in property insurance claims against their insurance companies as well as victims and families of victims who were injured or killed in fires and explosions.

“Trial lawyers are dedicated to their profession,” says Sklar. “MAJ members not only shine a light on critically important issues, but also offer a confident voice to those who would otherwise be ignored. It is a great pleasure to work with these talented professionals on a daily basis.

Sklar earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a JD from Michigan State University College of Law in 1985. He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and the American Association for Justice.

“We are delighted to have Stuart as our 70th president,” said MAJ Chief Executive Steve Pontoni. “He is dedicated to his profession, a highly regarded lawyer who is committed to our organization and dedicated to fighting for the rights of his clients. We know that Stuart will accomplish incredible things for our organization during his tenure.
