Preliminary agreement for a long-term service contract


ROME, March 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Regarding the tender for the acquisition of Alitalia’s maintenance business unit under extraordinary administration expiring today, March 14, 2022, ITA Airways announces that it has signed a preliminary agreement with the maintenance company company Atitech, for a service contract.

If the tender is awarded to Atitech, this preliminary agreement will be consolidated, in accordance with ITA Airways governance processes, into a long-term service contract which identifies the services and tariffs related to the activities indicated in the call for tenders.

The agreement is based on the general conditions of the standard agreement (published by IATA – 2013 and 2018 editions), with all the exceptions, derogations and special conditions indicated in the applicable European regulations.

In the event that Atitech does not win the call for tenders launched by Alitalia under Extraordinary Administration, this prior agreement will be terminated. In this case, ITA Airways emphasizes that, based on its interest in Alitalia’s maintenance business unit in extraordinary administration and respecting the professionalism of its workforce, it will continue to operate under the contract. of maintenance service already signed with Alitalia under extraordinary administration until its natural expiration in October, pursuing the best results in economic and service terms and in full compliance with the applicable regulatory framework.
